Dear Students,
The Presbyterian College School of Pharmacy Teacher of the Year Award is given to an outstanding teacher from the PCSP faculty each year. Faculty are nominated by students during the spring semester and then selected by the Teacher of the Year Committee which consists of the PSGA president, the class presidents, and the past year’s Teacher of the Year recipient. Last year’s winner was Dr. Jennifer Clements and, for this reason, Dr. Clements is not eligible for consideration this year. Nominees are considered for the award based upon the following criteria:
Concern for student learning
General knowledge base
Encouragement of student participation in the learning process
Ability to stimulate learning
Informative to students
Pedagogical organization
Communication skills
Correlation between lectures and exam
Fairness in the classroom
Respect for students
Ability to discuss matters outside of class
The Teacher of the Year will receive a plaque honoring his or her teaching achievement, an all-expenses-paid trip to the American Association of Colleges and Pharmacy (AACP) Annual Conference held each year during the summer, and recognition at the annual Awards Day to be held Thursday, April 14th, 2015.
Please consider nominating one eligible faculty member of the School of Pharmacy based on the above criteria for this year’s Teacher of the Year Award. To nominate a faculty member, simply complete the survey found at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/T7WPJFX, being careful to explain your reason(s) for choosing the faculty member of your choice, no later than Friday March 20th, 2015.
